PharmBLOCK held the table tennis match
The first Ping-pong tournament was held in PharmaBLOCK recently and all of the staffs participated in it.
There are 3 categories of the competition: men's singles, men's doubles and women's singles. Finally, Dr. YANG Minmin, the CEO of PharmaBLOCK, won the men's singles Champion. At the same time, he won the men's doubles champion with Mr. KANG Liu. Ms. ZHANG Dongmei won the women's singles champion.

Dr. SHU Qingning received a funding support from government.
Dr. SHU Qingning has recently received a funding support from the National Ministry of Personnel.
Dr. SHU is currently the director of medicinal chemistry and in charge of one FTE project for Roche. Dr. SHU obtained his Ph. D. from Auburn University and did his postdorctoral training in the University of Georgia. He is experienced in the organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry, especially in the area of anti-viral drug discovery. Dr. SHU joined PharmaBLOCK at the end of 2008.
This funding is to support the returnees with the innovative projects every year.

PharmaBLOCK will Appoint Dr. WU Xihan as the President of Research.
November 28, 2009 - Nanjing, China - PharmaBLOCK (Nanjing) R&D Co., Ltd, an innovation- and knowledge-based chemistry service company in China, announced that Dr. WU Xihan would join PharmaBLOCK as the president of research at the beginning of December.
Dr. WU got his Ph.D. degree from Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica in the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1999. He was a postdorctoral researcher in US from 1999 to 2002. After that, He was the associate professor in the department of medicinal chemistry in Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica from 2002 to 2004. Before he joined in PharmaBLOCK, he was the director of medicinal chemistry in Roche R&D Center (China) Ltd.. Also he was the Research Investigator & Section Head in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry in Roche R&D Center (China) Ltd. Dr. WU is an expert in oncology and experienced in the new drug discovery. He has published more than 30 papers and 19 patents so far.

The 3rd Joint Conference between Pharmablock and Roche R&D Center (China) Ltd. was held.
The 3rd joint conference between Pharmablock and Roche R&D Center (China) Ltd. (RDCC) was held in Nanjing recently.
Dr. YANG Minmin, the CEO of Pharmablock, Dr. SHU Qingning, the director of chemistry and Dr. WANG Hui, the associate director of chemistry, summarized the progress of FTE projects for Dr. CHEN Li who is the CSO of RDCC.
Dr. CHEN Li appreciated the CRO service from Pharmablock and appraised the R&D team led by Dr. YANG pushed the projects with high productivity and quality.
Both parties discussed the further plan of the projects.

Dr. YANG Minmin obtained the entrepreneurial talent funding from Nanjing Hi-Tech Zone recently. Starting from 2007, this funding has supported the outstanding returnees who set up the companies in Nanjing Hi-Tech Zone.
Dr. YANG Minmin and his management team, who are returnees from the famous pharmaceutical companies or universities in US with research fields involving in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry and biology, will start an innovative CRO chemical service with a unique business model and anti-virals new drug R&D in China.

July 6, 2009 - Nanjing, China - PharmaBLOCK (Nanjing) R&D Co., Ltd, an innovation- and knowledge-based chemistry service company in China, announced that Mr. ZHU Shanlu, the party secretary of Nanjing city, visited PharmaBLOCK on 5th, July.
Dr. YANG Minmin, the CEO of PharmaBLOCK, introduced the company's development briefly. Secretary ZHU sang high praise for PharmaBLOCK's model and contribution for the development of biotech in Nanjing and hoped Nanjing Hi-tech Zone could become the center of life science in Nanjing.

Chong Kun Dang Pharmaceutical Corp. (CKD Pharm) visited PharmaBLOCK
Recently Chong Kun Dang Pharmaceutical Corp. (CKD Pharm) visited PharmaBLOCK. CKD Pharm is one of Korea's largest manufacturers of antibiotics, primarily focusing on the application of its advanced technologies in fermentation and organic synthesis.
Dr. YANG Minmin, the CEO of PharmaBLOCK and Mr. Yaojun WU, the chairman of PharmaBLOCk, introduced the developement of PharmaBLOCK for them.
The guests were impressed by the R&D condition and management in PharmaBLOCK very much and cosidered it might be one of the best biotech companies in China.

The Deputy Director of Nanjing Foreign Experts Bureau visited Pharmablock.
Recently Mr. WANG Li, the deputy director of Nanjing Foreign Experts Bureau visited Pharmablock. Currently Pharmablock has 6 returnees who worked or studied for several years in the famous pharmaceutical company or universities in US.
Mr. WANG Li talked with Dr. YANG and Dr. SHU Qingning, the director of chemistry in Pharmablock and inquired them the situation of working and living. At the same time, he introduced the Nanjing Foreign Experts Bureau in detailed. The both parties deeply discussed how to push the pioneering work of returnees for serving the economic development of Nanjing city.

The First Pharmablock Column Competition was held
Recently the first column competition was held in PharmaBLOCK.
The R&D department was divided into two parts according to their labs' position. Four players and 2 judges from each part attended it. At the same time, families of all staffs have been encouraged to watch the game. PharmaBLOCK hopes to build up a good work relationship and a positive atmosphere by such activity. Meanwhile the staffs’ families can find out fun from chemistry by it.

The General Secretary of NPCRO visited Pharmablock.
Dr. ZHAO Wanzhou, the general secretary of Nanjing Pharmaceutical Contract Research Organization (NCRO), recently visited Pharmablock.
Dr. YANG Minmin, the CEO of Pharmablock discussed how to push the development of CRO and obtain the support from government in Nanjing with Dr. ZHAO.

The Former Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province visited Pharmablock.
Mr. DAI Shunzhi, the former vice governor of Jiangsu Province, visited Pharmablock recently. Mr. DAI was the mayor and municipal party committee secretary of Nanjing city.
Dr. YANG Minmin, the CEO of Pharmablock and Mr. WU Yaojun, the chairman of Pharmablock, accompanied Mr. DAI to take a company tour. The two sides had a deep communication and discussed the development of biotech industry in the current situation.

Recently the first joint conference between Pharmablock and Roche R&D Center (China) Ltd. (RDCC) was held at Nanjing.
Dr. YANG Minmin, the CEO of Pharmablock and Dr. SHU Qingning, the director of chemistry in Pharmablock, reported the progress of CRO projects for Dr. CHEN Li who is the CSO of RDCC and his board several people.

The Vice Principal of Nanjing University visited Pharmablock.
Recently Professor PAN Yi, the vice-principal of Nanjing University (NJU), visited Pharmablock.
Professor PAN concerns Pharmablock for a long time. Most of the management team in PharmaBLOCK graduated from the department of chemistry in NJU and have deep feelings to NJU always.
Dr. YANG Minmin introduced the development of Pharmablock and appreciated Professor PAN for his support. The two sides fervently discussed the possibility of cooperation in the future.

Pharmablock will Supply CRO Service for Roche R&D Center (China) Ltd.
Recently Dr. Andreas Tschirky, the CEO of Roche R&D Center (China) Ltd. (RDCC) and Dr. CHEN Li, the CSO of RDCC, visited Pharmablock. The both parties reached an agreement on the FTE CRO between the Pharmablock and RDCC in the near future.
Dr. YANG Minmin, the CEO of Pharmablock, keeps the good relationship with RDCC. Having built Pharmablock, Dr. YANG will lead a R&D group to supply an innovative CRO service for RDCC.
The guests though high praise for the R&D condition and capability of PharmaBLOCK and were fully confident in the cooperation with PharmaBLOCK.

Pharmablock R&D Center Earned “2008 WA Chinese Architecture Prize” Nomination.
Recently the R&D center of Pharmablock (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. earned “2008 WA Chinese Architecture Prize” nomination.
“WA Chinese Architecture Prize” is co-held every second year by the World Architecture magazine and China Architecture Engineering (CAE) from 2000, which is to encourage and introduce the most recent Chinese constructed architectures which combine the country’s situation and value innovation.
The commentators considered that the R&D center of Pharmablock (Nanjing) Co., Ltd. is in perfect conformity with the spirit and status of Pharmablock and adequately reflects the harmonious relationship of chemistry and environment.

Recently, Mr. SHAO Qiang, the deputy director of Nanjing Hi-Tech Zone visited Pharmablock. As one of the important cornerstone industries, Biotech is the developing direction with most concern and importance in Nanjing Hi-Tech Zone.
Dr. YANG Minmin, CEO of PharmaBlock, introduced the development and future plan about Pharmablock for Director SHAO. At the same time Dr. YANG gave a talk about how to develop the biotech industry in Nanjing Hi-Tech Zone and build a unique Pharma-Valley in Nanjing.
