Extensive flow chemistry experience

Flow chemistry is a cutting-edge technology that is transforming the way of pharmaceutical production. From a sustainability perspective, continuous flow chemistry can be implemented to address various green chemistry and engineering principles raised by ACS GCI, including waste minimization, energy efficiency, process safety, etc.

 

PharmaBlock's flow chemistry team has mastered applying this technology to more than 40 types, and supported hundreds of development and manufacturing projects. The continuous manufacturing GMP workshop at PharmaBlock Zhejiang Site further enhances the large-scale continuous manufacturing capability and capacity. To recognize PharmaBlock's outstanding efforts and achievement in green chemistry in support of pharmaceutical research, development, and manufacturing, American Chemical Society (ACS) Green Chemistry Institute Pharmaceutical Roundtable (GCI PR) presented PharmaBlock 2023 CMO Excellence in Green Chemistry Award. The winning project was for one of the successes of continuous flow chemistry technology implementation at PharmaBlock. We believe that flow chemistry will play a critical role in driving the industry towards more sustainable and environmentally friendly production methods. We are proud to be at the forefront of this movement and will continue to invest in the development and implementation of flow chemistry.

Robust engineering capabilities to increase the flexibility of flow chemistry applications

PharmaBlock has a professional team specialized in mechanical, electronic and automation engineering that designs and assembles flow reactors of high flexibility.


Currently, Pharmablock is equipped with self-assembled flow reactors with different volumes ranging from 1 mL to 15 L that are fabricated from different materials (PFA, SiC, SS316, etc.). The company also has some special equipment like micropacked bed and photocatalytic reactors. These flow reactors are applied both in lab and manufacturing scale for different projects.
